Range Safety rules

Here are five essential gun range safety rules:

  1. Always Treat Every Firearm as if It’s Loaded – Even if you believe a gun is unloaded, always handle it with care and follow all safety protocols.
  2. Keep Your Finger Off the Trigger Until Ready to Shoot – Only place your finger on the trigger when you have properly aimed at your target and are ready to fire.
  3. Always Point the Muzzle in a Safe Direction – Never point a firearm at anything you do not intend to shoot, whether loaded or unloaded.
  4. Know Your Target and What’s Beyond It – Be aware of what you are shooting at and ensure there is a safe backstop to prevent unintended damage or injury.
  5. Follow All Range Commands and Rules – Obey the range officers and posted regulations to ensure a safe shooting environment for everyone.

    Shooting Range Rules & Regulations

    1. All shooters must sign a waiver before using the range.
    2. Eye and ear protection is mandatory at all times while on the range.
    3. Firearms must be unloaded and casedwhen entering or leaving the facility.
    4. Keep your firearm pointed downrange at all times.
    5. Finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
    6. Only shoot at designated targets—no cross-lane shooting.
    7. Rapid fire is prohibited unless approved by range staff.
    8. Drawing from a holster is not allowedunless approved by range staff.
    9. Steel core, armor-piercing, tracer, incendiary, and explosive ammunition are strictly prohibited. Violators are subject to a $250 fine, and additional costs will be assessed for any range damage.
    10. All firearms and ammunition are subject to inspection by range staff.
    11. Rentals are only issued to groups of two or more—no solo firearm rentals.
    12. Intoxication or impairment from drugs or alcohol is strictly prohibited.
    13. No outside targets are allowed unless approved by range staff.
    14. Muzzles must remain pointed downrangewhen loading, unloading, or clearing malfunctions.
    15. Only authorized personnel may retrieve objects beyond the firing line.
    16. Clean up after yourself—place spent casings in designated bins.
    17. No food, drink, or tobacco products inside the shooting area.
    18. Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
    19. Ceasefire must be obeyed immediatelywhen called by range staff.
    20. Failure to follow range rules may result in removal from the facility without a refund.

    By entering the range, you agree to abide by these rules. Non-compliance may result in fines, penalties, and potential bans from the facility.
